We handpick every piece from estate sales, local clients, and thrift shops linked with great organizations likeHabitat for Humanity. Each item has its own story and charm - we try to add some background information to our listings when we can. That said, if there's no story on the listing of the item that's caught your eye and you'd like to the exact provenance, please reach out! We're happy to share the story and all the facts in our private catalog.
Yes! To be specific:
Vintage typically refers to items more than 50 years old. That said, some types of things might considered vintage at 25+ years old (e.g., vintage tech, pop culture items from the 80s and 90s, etc.)
Antique items are those more than 100 years old (or thereabouts.)
Collectibles are items of any age that people tend to prize and search out.
Whether it's vintage, antique, or collectible, the key is that it is authentic and that it is in sellable condition. Simply, the item faithfully matches the description.
Our team carefully verifies each find. There's a reason we have 100's of listings and not 1000's of items for sale... we spend a lot of time making sure we know exactly what it is, where it came from, and anything else of significance. If we aren't sure and can't determine what it is, we say so. We strive to be totally transparent and deliver exactly what the listing describes.
We pride ourselves on offering authentic vintage and antique books, art, décor, handbags, and jewelry.
No - we only use photos of the actual itme you're purchasing. The photos are part of the description and show the item details and the particulars of the condition. We spend a lot of time documenting each item visually, so that you can see exactly what it looks like.
Condition is often a bit subjective - vintage items typically have some wear, and what is perfectly acceptable to one person is not to another. For example, if you're buying an antique bread bowl because you want to use it to make bread then you'll have a very different sense of what the condition should be vs if you're purchasing an antique bread bowl as a piece of art or decor. Either way, we want to provide all the information you're looking for.
